Winner of the Best Licensed Premises Award 2009
The Fisherman's Thantched Inn has won the 2009 Best Licensed Premisie Award in conjunction with Laois Chamber of commerce.
The objectives of the award are to promote and recognise Excellence and High Standards, Customer Service, Innovation and Enterprise to name but a few.
The award was judged by mystery shoppers where a minimum of two visits to each entrant took place . This highly contested category attracted entries from all around the county. The Licensees and Managers of all the shortlisted premises offered their customers excellent service and a friendly atmosphere.
Commenting on the Fisherman's one of the judges said, "This pub impressed us with the wide range of activities that take place there and with the sense of community that is apparent to everyone who visits.
"This Pub, which is set in a must see rural setting, is very much a winner as the ambience and staff make this 'hideaway' a very unique place to visit and enjoy a good pint and lots more."
